Power up with a first CIRED run

We distribute electrons through our neuronal network to the muscles: CIRED keeps the world running.

Join your peers for a six km run from the conference venue, through Geneva’s streets to a park overlooking Lake Geneva early Wednesday morning.

It’s our way of helping you get the best possible start to a busy day at the conference and exhibition. Open to all CIRED participants.

Taking part in the CIRED run

Organisation

The CIRED run in Geneva is a fun six km run, a well-being activity organised by the IET. The rules of the event should be understood by all participants before taking part – the most important of which is that you should be physically able to run six km. Please note there are no public showers at Palexpo.

Behaviour and conduct

Anyone can be asked to leave the CIRED run for:

  • Noncompliance with the course
  • Unsporting  behaviour

Image rights and data protection

By taking part in this event each participant authorises the organisers of the CIRED run to take photographs and film their participation in the run. In addition, the participant consents to the publication, commercial and advertising usage of the images taken during the run. Images will not be used for any other purposes than those stated previously. Participants may exercise their rights to access, rectify, cancel or oppose their personal data by sending an email to: cired@theiet.org.

Each participant’s personal data provided at the registration will be used by the organisers for the purpose of managing, organising, producing, communicating, and ensuring the safety of participants. This data may also be used for future communications about sporting or well-being activities. The data will only be used by the organisers and partners.

Insurance

At the time of the start of the CIRED run in Geneva all participants should be in good physical and mental health and be clearly able to take part in the run. The run is fully covered by the organisers’ liability insurance. The organisers will not be held responsible for situations that are not covered by this insurance.

Weather

The participants will take responsibility for their own dress depending on weather conditions, for example the use of a hat and sun cream in the heat. Cancellation of the event will be considered if weather conditions make it unsafe to run.

Refreshments

There will be no water provided, so if participants want water they should ensure to bring their own bottle.  A polite reminder: please do not litter at any stage during the run.

Medical services

All participants should be in good physical and mental health, and be clearly able to take part in the run. All participants must sign a waiver accepting medical risk when participating in the run.

Participants will be responsible for their own warm up, should they require one
Medical support will not be provided by the organisers

Traffic/road crossing on the route

Participants must use the crossings provided and reinforced during the event. There will be at least two guide runners with the group and all road laws in Switzerland will be obeyed and all participants are required to conduct themselves in a safe and sensible fashion.
